Objective:
To study the genetic structure, admixture, origin and migration of human populations along the Silk Road using molecular biology (such as paleogenomics and pangenomics) and physical anthropology approach.
Scientific Issues:
(1) Demic or cultural diffusion of the prehistoric trans-Eurasian exchanges;
(2) Population migration and language dispersal along the Silk Road;
(3) The effect of genetic admixture and population expansion on Silk Road civilization development;
(4) The transmission of physical and disease phenotypes among Silk Road populations.
